About US

Serving Jackson Township since 1949

The Morgantown Fire Department proudly provides Fire, Rescue, and Basic Life Support (BLS) EMS services to more than 3,600 residents across Jackson Township, Morgan County, Indiana.

Our mission is simple: to protect lives, property, and the community we call home. We accomplish this through professionalism, continuous training, and an unwavering commitment to public safety.

Our department operates with a combination of volunteer and part-time staff, ensuring 24/7 emergency coverage. With improved staffing and response procedures, our average response time has dropped from 18–20 minutes to just 6–8 minutes. A difference that can save homes, families, and lives.

We remain dedicated to open communication with the residents we serve. Whether through public meetings, safety education programs, or community outreach, our goal is to keep Morgantown and Jackson Township informed, protected, and prepared
